Looking for a candidate with significant electrical design experience, specifically with healthcare projects and 5 years of Project Management experience at a minimum. This candidate should also have the desire to help grow our team and to manage and develop our young electrical engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer focusing primarily on healthcare projects, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for designing large projects, preparing reports and specifications, and providing a very high level of technical leadership.

  • Providing consulting services, including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports
  • Overseeing the production of drawings consistent with client requirements and standards, local codes, and jurisdictional Healthcare design requirements
  • Conducting due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures
  • Establishing design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects

Project Manager Responsibilities:

 Responsible for managing the function of projects. Take ownership of the client’s and the firm’s project goals in terms of: project contract management, understanding and managing client expectations, tight project schedule control, controlling and optimizing project financials including billing and collections, and ensuring optimal project information flow (internally and externally).

Work closely with trade specific project engineers to ensure all the items above are delivered in a coordinated product.  Develop staff skills along the lines of project management.

Successful candidates must have a current PE registration as an Electrical Engineer with a solid, and stable work record of accomplishment. Someone with Healthcare design experience and Project Management is a requirement. The capability to fully design electrical systems for other building types such as Aviation projects, Commercial and Mission Critical would be a major plus and good fit for this dynamic role.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university

Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a consulting firm

LEED accreditation preferred

  • Candidate should possess a strong ability to coordinate between MEP and Low Voltage trades, as well as discuss technical aspects of other trades at a high level

 


Senior Electrical Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer with 15 or more years of experience in consulting engineering and project management. Applicants must be well versed in all aspects of electrical systems design and specification. Experience in healthcare, hospitality, industrial, educational, commercial, and high-rise projects is desired. The successful individual should be comfortable consulting to architectural practices and have a desire to work on a multi-discipline engineering team.

Requirements Include:

Senior Electrical Engineer

Independently performs detailed phases of design engineering work for a project of moderate size and complexity to design and engineer building electrical power distribution, lighting, building life safety, emergency and UPS, security, paging and low voltage voice and data systems to assure safe reliable and energy efficient design. This requires the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria where the scope is already outlined in the form of contract drawings, specifications, one-line drawings and component estimates derived during the Step 1 process. The incumbent must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of design engineering and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop scope of work documents for the Step 1 process
  • Develop design criteria and equipment selection in Step 1 process for preparation of construction documents.
  • Develops specifications, working drawings, instructions, and other related documents of a complex project of moderate size.

Chief Electrical Engineer

SCOPE:

Plans, organizes, and manages all electrical engineering activities for the department to produce electrical working drawings and specifications for all projects within its own office and may have the responsibility to assist other chiefs at other offices.  The incumbent must can demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with the Manager of Engineering to determine long-range plans and objectives of the department.
  • Assures that electrical engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, local codes and energy standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives.
  • Responsible for the quality of work and productivity of the electrical engineering department and ensures financials of the department fall within established budgets and monitors project schedules.
  • Assists in the selection of new employees for the department and acts as a mentor to promote internal growth within the department.
  • Participates in man-hour estimates for the design activities, delegates manpower assignments and provides guidance to subordinates
  • Gives professional input on the conceptual estimating of the electrical component of a Step 1 proposal.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Normally requires a 4-year electrical engineering degree and typically 11+ years’ related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).  Professional registration is normally required at this level.  Incumbent must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and electrical engineering software’s to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments.

Should have experience designing industrial facilities (manufacturing, assembly facilities, large bakeries, other food processing plants, aerospace, laboratory, etc.).


Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing trade specific system design: layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff.  Must take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you.  Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

 

  • Represent and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)

Must also have the knowledge to read, review and evaluate floor plans, sections and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction.  Someone who possesses expertise in trade specific design and calculation software and has the ability to make proper system selections with/without supervision of senior engineer/senior designer.
